Cheddar and Parmesan Buttermilk Loaf


I was looking up recipes to use up my buttermilk and came across this AMAZING cheese bread!


  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, and egg
  4. Combine the dry and wet mixtures, but do not over mix the batter
  5. Add the cheese
  6. Line or spray a 9×5 baking pan and bake for 1 hour or until the toothpick comes out clean after inserting into the center of the loaf
