David Chang’s Miso Corn – on a budget


I attempted David Chang’s Miso corn! The supermarket version, so not as fancy as I imagine David Chang’s to be!


  • 1 white onion
  • 1 tbsp miso paste
  • 1 tbsp butter – softened
  • 2 strips of bacon
  • 1 1/2 cup corn
  • 1 green onion stalk
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 egg


  1. slice up the onion and caramelize
  2. chop up the bacon into smaller pieces and add to caramelized onions
  3. combine the butter and miso into a paste
  4. add the paste into the onions and bacon, now add the corn – medium heat
  5. stir until the corn is coated
  6. cut up the green onion and add to the corn
  7. add the broth and simmer until the stock is reduced and almost gone, now plate
  8. poach the egg and place on top of the corn
